Duties

We are looking for a New Business Broker to join Valley Forge Insurance Brokerage (VFIB). VFIB is a nationwide wholesaler and a wholly owned division of Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY). VFIB writes in all 50 states and is appointed with multiple carriers for a variety of commercial product lines.  

This position is responsible for brokering the products that PHLY does not currently offer such as Workers Compensation, Inland Marine, Property and other specialty coverages. This is achieved through extensive interaction with PHLY Marketing Reps, Insurance Agents, and Carriers. The person for in this role will develop a broad product knowledge so that they can educate agents on why to place the business with VFIB. This role requires a strong customer service mindset that is focused on generating results that exceed your goals
 

A typical day will include:

• Building relationships with PHLY Marketing Reps and Account Associates to write allied lines of business
• Contacting existing agents and prospective agents to solicit new business submissions
• Reviewing insurance applications to determine the appropriate markets
• Working with appointed carriers by forwarding submission information to obtain a quote
• Presenting the quotes to agents and selling the benefits of VFIB and the carrier
• Negotiating terms with agents and carriers to write the account
• Maintaining proper documentation for all accounts
• Providing exceptional customer service
• Coordinating and sharing information with other team members

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; minimum 2 years in the industry, sales or underwriting experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
• Current Property and Casualty License required
• Outstanding communication skills
• Sales experience preferred
• 2 or more years Broker experience preferred
• Experience with commercial lines products such as Workers Compensation, Inland Marine, Property or other Specialty Lines is highly desire
