We are looking for a highly motivated, analytical, but creative thinker and problem solver to join our Tokio Marine Specialty Team as a Senior Excess Underwriter in Phoenix, AZ.
Under limited direction and supervision, underwrites and markets assigned products by providing high levels of risk assessment and technical underwriting expertise to determine underwriting acceptability. May provide high level of financial analysis to determine credit quality.
Gathers and analyzes information, applying appropriate underwriting techniques necessary to make an accurate evaluation of acceptability of risk.
Prepares and participates in marketing activities within the region to promote the development of new business.
Participates in the producer management process which may include, but is not limited to, premium collections.
Prepares underwriting submissions, making recommendations and/or decisions within established authority limits.
Prepares and participates in proposals to producers and/or accounts negotiating terms and conditions.
Bachelor’s degree; minimum 5 - 8 years of related Excess insurance experience with a carrier or brokerage; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Surplus Lines License preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
