Marketing Statement

Philadelphia Insurance Companies, a member of the Tokio Marine Group, designs, markets and underwrites commercial property/casualty and professional liability insurance products for select industries.   We have been in operation since 1962 and are nationally recognized as a member of  Ward's Top 50 and rated A++ by A.M.Best.

Duties

We are looking for a Regional Vice President of Marketing to lead the Northwest Region and sit in the Seattle, WA or Tualatin, OR office!

Summary: 
Plans, directs and executes sales and marketing strategies, planning and activities in a Region to support the profitable growth of PHLY’s business.  The RVP works with home office department heads for each functional area (outside of marketing) in a "matrix" structure to achieve goals. This includes coordinating the activities of underwriting, human resources, account management, claims and customer service in a Region.

Responsibilities include: 
Manages Marketing Representatives, Underwriters and Marketing management (in coordination with home office and/or regional underwriting management) to execute the company's underwriting strategy and achieve the annual Regional business plan (premium, new business sales, renewal retention, underwriting loss ratios, rate increases, etc.).

In a matrix structure, coordinates the activities of marketing, underwriting, customer service, account management, human resources and claims in a Region and in home office to ensure attainment of organizational goals and the Regional business plan.

Manages Regional activities to keep expenses at or below the Regional expense budget.

Develops marketing plans and large national account programs, local and state advertising,  local and state associations (affinity marketing), and independent agents.

Preferred  Agency /Select Agency Representation – establishes working relationships with agents, by state, to increase awareness of our products and increase premium production.  Participates in sales calls and makes sales presentations for preferred agents, large roll-over opportunities and new program opportunities. Enhances penetration with the Select Agent plan.

Addresses human resources issues such as recruiting and development and employee relations and compliance issues within the Region to achieve turnover and recruitment targets and drive employee engagement. 

Stays in monthly contact with customers (agents, wholesalers, policyholders) to promptly address issues or requests, build healthy working relationships and ask for referrals. 

Teaches, develops and mentors marketing representatives and underwriters on telemarketing and in-person sales techniques and referral generation, including how to successfully interact with agents and wholesalers.

Develops a fixed number of qualified submissions from assigned Region which are processed to the home office in complete form with a request for quotation (PATH Active List) to support the attainment of premium goals.

Accounts  Receivable - manages the Region’s accounts receivable to maintain zero accounts receivable based on the use of conditional binders. Monitors accounts receivables in assigned Region to ensure that the company is not out of equity from a receivables standpoint

May directly supervise VP, AVP, Regional Sales Managers and Marketing Representatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field; Master’s Degree preferred; 10 years of sales and marketing experience with progressively more responsible management experience; at least five (5) years in a management position; equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
