Duties

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise the Billing Operations department.  Provide assistance on Company projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g. Underwriting/Underwriting Support) to address/resolve Billing related issues and questions.
  • Ensure all SLAS are met and customer service levels are acceptable. 
  • Improve department processes and efficiency.
  • Perform operational approvals and assist with day-to-day tasks as needed.
  • Coach, mentor and develop Billing associates.
  • Ensure processes are in compliance with SOX, internal and external audits.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct staff 1 on 1 meetings.
  • Perform mid-year and annual performance evaluations.

Special Remarks:

  • May require periodic overtime

Qualifications

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or 4 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable and/or managerial experience  
  • 3+ years general office experience
  • 1+ years serving in a formal supervisory role with input into hiring and compensation decisions, managing workflow and resource allocation, and conducting performance evaluations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Performs well under pressure of deadlines
  • Completes assigned tasks in a prompt and reliable manner
  • Able to manage high volume of work in a multi-task environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Finance, Accounting or Billing experience
  • Insurance industry, process improvement and/or Call Center experience preferred
