Duties

Summary

 

Oversees aspects and day-to-day activities of the digital and innovation practice including building out and managing the team as appropriate. You will be involved in many aspects of bringing innovation and digital opportunities to our business and contribute to the delivery of innovative and exciting projects across the organization. You will interview the appropriate customer groups to define and analyze specific business and technical systems requirements. Working with Insurtech partners, you will analyze and test new ways of doing business. Working as part of the digital and innovation experience team, you will bridge the gap between business needs and the art of the possible including ease of doing business activities.

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Manage digital team members that will support the adoption of new technologies and platforms in addition to enhancing the user experience for employees and customers
  • Contribute to innovation practice that assesses and exposes business and technology trends. Support a culture of innovation through employee engagement that includes sharing research, providing training and hosting seminars
  • Lead rapid Proof of Concepts (PoC’s) to test out ideas that have potential value
  • Collaborative creation of low cost solution trials using rapid prototyping, experimentation and testing between IT and the business
  • Ensure smooth transition of prototypes and conceptual work to operational teams
  • Serve as a point of communication for digital activities and Insuretech
  • Identify business goals and acts as an advocate for internal and external partners

Qualifications

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline preferred
  • Insurance industry experience preferred
  • 8+ years’ relevant experience in digital innovation, research, consulting or a related field, or general project/ Business Analyst experience
  • Ability to weigh business needs against security concerns and articulate to management.
  • Knowledge of organizational politics and political tactics; ability to effectively navigate formal and informal communication and decision-making channels
  • Comfortable handling ambiguity and exploring new business and technology opportunities
  • Proactive, energetic, and able to work in a fast paced, and time-sensitive environment
  • Knowledge, insight, and understanding of business concepts and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
  • Ability to elicit and write high level business requirements, user stories, functional specifications and prototyping
  • Strong writing and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with clients, vendors, business and within IT
  • Strong customer service orientation toward Business Units requiring consultation (responsive, consultative, collaborative and accurate)
  • Strong leadership ability; able to work with a group to set its objectives and agenda, generate allegiance to those objectives, and guide and motivate achievement
  • Strong project management skills: Plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of resources, to achieve project objectives and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building skills: able to work with a variety of people and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
  • Strong interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience, and/or industry activities
  • Strong analytical ability with the capability to determine the root cause of problems and issues and provide solutions
  • Strategic thinking; Applies organizational acumen to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle multiple, competing, frequently changing time-sensitive deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision
  • Ability to work and lead effectively as part of a team
