Description
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Investigate, evaluate and proactively resolve personal and commercial auto claims
Determines eligibility, coverage, and obtains appropriate documentation to process payments of claims
Responds promptly to inquiries from claimants, insureds, agents, and other interested parties
Timely and appropriate documentation of first and third party damages, dispatch appraisal assignments.
Determine subrogation/arbitration exposures, prepare file to assure all pertinent investigation completed and have subrogation letters sent on timely basis to respective parties.
Adjuster II (including above duties):
Timely reporting of SLR and LLSR criteria claims. Prepare and provide status updates on Major Accounts.
Qualifications / Experience:
Claims Trainee:
4 Year College Degree or equivalent work experience in customer service, investigation or insurance.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook Word, Excel & Power Point
Good critical thinking skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Good customer service and interpersonal skills
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
Excellent organization skills in order to juggle multiple priorities and assignments
Able to adapt to changing circumstances
Adjuster I: (all Claims Trainee requirements plus the following):
Minimum 1 year of claims adjusting experience, preferably in Auto
Basic understanding of claims systems like Guidewire and ImageRight
Decision making mindset using investigation skills and developing action plans for claims
Basic vehicle and repair knowledge
Adjuster II: (all Adjuster I requirements plus the following):
Minimum 3 years of Personal and Commercial Auto claims handling experience, preferably in Hawaii
Proficient in interpreting all lines of auto policies
A developed decision making mindset with proficiency in recognizing serious exposures and coverage situations that require drafting letters and reporting to management
Proficient in developing key relationships with customers and agency partners
Strong vehicle and repair knowledge
Additional Qualifications Preferred:
Current Hawaii State Adjuster’s License preferred
Able to type 35+ WPM
Salary:
$52,600 to $67,300 annually
