Duties

We are looking for a Specialty Underwriter Trainee - Englewood, CO to join our team

Summary -

Working under direct supervision, underwrites and markets assigned products by providing basic risk assessment and technical underwriting to determine underwriting acceptability or may provide support and assistance by handling administrative and routine underwriting tasks.


A typical day will include the following:

Reads, studies and learns basic technical underwriting principles of the assigned line of business.

Learns to apply appropriate underwriting techniques necessary to make an accurate evaluation of acceptability of the risk and provide recommendation. May evaluate credit quality

Supports and participates in marketing activities within the region to promote the development of new business or may support underwriting staff using necessary systems, forms, methods and procedures.

Assists in the producer management process which may include, but is not limited to, assessment of premium collections

Maintains and updates underwriting files, as requested.

Supports and participates in proposals to producers and/or accounts negotiating terms and conditions.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
• Proficient in MS Office
• Detail-oriented and interested in learning the insurance field
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Some experience with professional liability or commercial lines insurance experience preferred.

Salary

The salary range posted is pursuant to Colorado law. Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location.

$66,700 - $74,100

Bonus/Annual Incentive

This position is eligible to participate in the Company's Annual Incentive Plan.
