Duties

We are looking for a Surety Claims Assistant to join our team.

Summary:
Provides administrative support to the Surety Claims Department including the organizing and reviewing of claim information and other general administrative duties.

A typical day will include the following:
Processes claim correspondence under guidance from Sr. Claim Assistant and claim examiners.
Set up new claims for routing and assignment in compliance with company guidelines.
Acquires a basic knowledge of the principles of Surety through reviewing correspondence, surety bond forms, and indemnity agreements.
Handles basic telephone and electronic inquiries on surety claims and maintains organization of files.
Assists in referring matters to collections and processing recoveries.

Qualifications

At least one year of Claims Assistant experience with a commercial insurance carrier required; surety experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work in service driven role.
High School Diploma or equivalency.
