Duties

We are looking for a Commercial Lines Field Underwriter (Mission Viejo, CA, Pasadena, CA or Phoenix, AZ) to join our team!

Summary -

Determines acceptability, conditions and pricing of specific property & casualty (P&C) insurance risks and agrees on coverage within regulatory requirements, corporate product offerings and designated authority level.

A typical day will include the following:

• Underwriters large, complex property & casualty (P&C) insurance risks
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all products, services, and target markets in the P&C line of business or insurance segment. 
• Drives regional product strategies within the local territory, and works closely with management, sales/marketing counterparts and claims/loss control personnel to achieve targeted results. 
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the local trends, market conditions and major legal or economic factors affecting the P & C line of business or insurance segment. 
• Represents the company in agent/broker meetings and presentations to help drive production in assigned territory. 

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Requirements include a minimum of 2-3 years of Commercial underwriting experience beyond the trainee level (3-7 years preferred) with a carrier handling Commercial Package business in a production-focused underwriting capacity. 
• Excellent analytical and communication skills. 
• Ability to be detail oriented with strong time management in a fast-paced environment.

Salary

• CA Salary range:

• $79,600-$88,500

• Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location.
