Duties

Job Summary:

We are looking for a qualified candidate for the position of Solution Architect – Web Technologies to to join our high performing team that delivers and supports services across the U.S. and Mexico to the North American businesses of the Tokio Marine Group . As a Solution Architect you will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, evaluating and presenting options for solutions, ensuring quality and alignment of multiple systems in your designs, and   participating in solution design and best practices adoption.  You will also be responsible for the development, communication, and implementation of the organization's technology architecture and the design of applications and integrations components required to support it.

We expect you to have advanced design and development skills in key technologies (articulated below) . We expect you to have a history of enterprise application and integration development and several years of experience creating enterprise architectures and solutions. We are looking for candidates to be collaborative, communicative, and confident in working with business and IT groups in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for architecting web based applictions across multiple platforms
• Collaborate with management to determine business-specific application needs
• Responsible for the development, communication, and implementation of the organization's technology architecture and the components required to support
• Contribute to solution roadmaps in developing the IT vision and strategy and provide input into Application Security strategy
• Apply knowledge of enterprise architecture and standards to web technology designs
• Produce various architecture views such as application architecture diagrams, deployment diagrams, sequence diagrams, dataflow diagrams, etc
• Ensure alignment of solutions with business and IT goals & objectives
• Work with vendors and third parties as needed to assess the operational architecture and potential solution designs
• Collaborate with the architecture community as needed to review, endorse, solve, plan and socialize resiliency focused topics and to define the application architecture/design
• Participate in defining configuration, data and integration standards where needed for new development
• Maintain code best practices and standards. Ensure that the best practices are enforced and architecture standards are met with new initiatives and deployments
• Comply with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at the company
• Perform special projects and other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications

Degree / Licenses and Professional Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other relevant Engineering discipline, MIS or a related technical discipline is preferable

Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in Solution Architecture
• 5+ years development/design experience in .NET, .Net core, ASP.NET MVC, WebAPI, ASP.NET Web Forms
• 2+ years in design and building SPA applications using AngularJS, Angular, ReactJS, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, Javascript, JQuery, GraphQL
• 5+ years professional development experience with SQL using Microsoft SQL Server databases
• Proven expertise in enterprise-grade, Internet-facing web applications for business users (e.g.: security, RESTful Web API design, SOAP API, HTTP in-depth, test automation in the browser)
• Responsive user interface design and development expertise
• Experience Configuring IIS
• Experience in Azure DevOps practices
• Experience working in insurance industry P&C sector is a plus
• Experience with Web Forms development and any Content Management System is a plus
• Experience developing mobile solutions for IOS and Android mobile devices is a plus
• Experience developing and integrating web sites with various social media API is a plus
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process is a plus

Knowledge:

• Advanced knowledge of Object-Oriented Design and Object-Oriented Programming
• Advanced knowledge of SOA principles, design patterns, implementation methodologies, and related tools
• Strong Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies required
• Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile development processes, projects and deliverables
• Deep understanding of database design and data modeling
• Knowledge of enterprise portal design concepts such as integration, security, collaboration, personalization, SSO, taxonomy classification and federation
• Strong knowledge of Unit testing frameworks and SOAPUI/ReadyAPI/Postman

Salary range $98,834.68-$140,000.00.  Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location. Our company offers a competitive benefits package and bonus eligibility on top of base.
