Duties

Job Summary:

Coordinate general aspects of claim relationships with key customers. Maintain clear, consistent and productive communication between policyholders, brokers, AEOs, Underwriting and claim service department staff members. Set up new special account instructions and monitor compliance with them. Coordinate claim reviews as necessary. Present service proposals and new claim products to prospective and existing customers. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Act as liaison between the policyholder, broker, and Tokio Marine for all claim issues, especially those not attributable to a specific claim.
  • Visit policyholders and brokers as necessary, throughout the year to maintain claim service continuity with the account (as balanced against applicable expense budgets).
  • Build and maintain strong customer relations between policyholders, brokers, and Tokio Marine.
  • Where appropriate, attend insurance related meetings with the policyholder’s staff.
  • Facilitate solutions to Claim Service problems when/if they arise.  
  • Participate in Account Stewardship to validate Tokio Marine claim service commitments and strategy to the Client.
  • Coordinate and attend on-site claim reviews for policyholder as needed. Coordinate scheduling of these with the broker.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor compliance with Special Claim Handling Instructions.
  • Present new claim products and procedural changes to policyholders and brokers.
  • Set up new accounts, including managed care and organization coding arrangements.
  • Responsible for complying with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at Company.
  • Assist Client Solutions and Underwriting with service proposals and new claim products to prospective and existing customers. 
  • Assist Manager in maintaining and processing Managed Care notices, applications in accordance with the Division of Workers’ Compensation regulations with the States DWC Unit, policyholders and the claims department.    
  • Assist National Managed care Manager in promoting and increasing managed care enrollment, staff training and maintaining the Managed care log.  
  • Responsible for improving insured reporting lag time with policy holders, client solutions and claims service department.
     

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree preferred
  • Five+ years of successful claim experience; multi-line claim knowledge helpful but not required
  • Knowledge of specific lines of business, civil law, and dispute resolution.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel to customer sites to meet customer demands as required
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment
