Duties

Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified Senior Power BI developer to join our high performing team that delivers and supports services across the U.S. and Mexico to the North American businesses of the Tokio Marine Group.  You will be responsible for designing, developing and supporting Power BI reports and dashboards.  We are looking for a dynamic, tech savvy, self-motivated hands-on developer who is passionate about their work and quick at analysis and resolving issues.  Candidates should be collaborative, communicative and confident while working with business and IT groups in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Work closely with Business Analysts to review reporting requirements and assist in solutions analysis
• Design, develop, implement and maintain reporting solutions using Power BI through the use of interactive visual reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards
• Design reusable, efficient data models to transform raw data into meaningful data visualizations
• Manage implementation of reporting enhancements and changes
• Support ad hoc data reporting and data analysis
• Provide subject matter expertise, guidance, and technical direction for Microsoft Power BI Development
• Develop/support MS SQL code including complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions with an understanding of performance factors (indexing, execution plans)
• Monitor SQL processes and create improvements to performance where applicable
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of data through analysis and unit testing
• Provide support for the change management process & perform post deployment validation for all changes deploying into production systems
• Support reporting operations by working with other development teams to resolve issues within established SLAs
• Assist in creating technical documents with moderate to complex designs
• Comply with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at the Company
• Establish and build strong working relations and partnerships with Business Units and Senior Management

Qualifications

Degree / Licenses and Professional Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,  MIS,  Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred
• Microsoft developer certifications in Power BI is a plus

Experience and Knowledge Required

• 7+ years designing and developing reports and dashboards in Power BI with a good understanding of the end-to-end Power BI suite tools (i.e Power BI Desktop, Power BI Services)
• Knowledgeable of Data Visualization best practices
• Experience using DAX to create metrics and measures
• 7+ years professional development experience in SQL 2016/2019
• Knowledge and experience in full lifecycle development and deployment of BI reporting solutions
• Advanced knowledge of creating, analyzing and debugging stored procedures
• Proficiency in Data Analysis and Requirements Analysis
• High proficiency in understanding relational & dimensional data models
• Experience in database query optimization
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure
• Experience with other BI tools is preferred (Cognos, SSRS)
• Knowledge of Property & Casualty Insurance is preferred

Salary range $98,840 to $125,000. Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location. Our company offers a competitive benefits package and bonus eligibility on top of base.
