Duties

We are looking for a Assistant Vice President to join our team!

Summary -

Reporting to a VP, manages underwriting profit and growth for assigned line of business in support of the marketing strategy.  Premium responsibility minimum of $7M/yr.

A typical day will include the following:

• Conducts performance reviews and determines professional development needs and opportunities for staff; hires, fires, counsels and coaches staff to achieve organizational objectives.
• Administers annual business plan for region, branch and/or product line and implements programs to achieve annual business plan objectives for product line revenues, salary administration, operating and acquisition expenses.
• Implements and maintains product line underwriting standards and policies.
• Establishes, maintains and enhances relationships with regional marketing management.
• Ensures submissions received from regional offices conform to underwriting standards.
• Ensures underwriting responses and decisions are compliant with underwriting standards.
• Ensures communications with internal and external customers are conducive to sound business relationships.
• Participates in the regional marketing visits.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will have the following:

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in Surety Underwriting within P&C Commercial Insurance
• Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory experience
• Bachelor’s degree; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• AFSB Designation preferred.

Salary range $166,460-$186,000 plus bonus opportunity.  Ultimate salary will be based on experience and geographic location.
