Duties

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Corporate UW Specialist III:

• Serves as the line of business SME for assigned lines of business
• Functions as SME on policy administration system changes initiated by the department; provides guidance as needed to the business unit(s) and IT.
• Reviews ISO, NCCI, AAIS circulars & notices for assigned lines of business. Evaluates each circular & notice and makes recommendations for adoption, if applicable.
• Conducts underwriting file reviews and research underwriting issues for assigned lines of business.
• Assists in coverage content training, including creation of training materials or marketing brochures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Technical Specialist (including the duties above plus the following):

• Conducts coverage content training, including creation of training material or marketing brochures.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Experience:

Corporate UW Specialist III:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in an insurance company or agency in P&C Underwriting and/or claims, or insurance organization experience in product development
• 7+ years of insurance experience (underwriting, claims, agency, regulatory)
• Able to analyze, think through multiple variables, and develop creative solutions without losing focus of desired outcomes
• Self-starter with initiative and ability to follow through on assignments and projects; independent
• Detail oriented
• Effective communicator; strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Team player, collaborative, experience dealing with difficulty personalities

Technical Specialist (including the requirements above plus the following):

• 10+ years of insurance experience (underwriting, claims, agency, regulatory)

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of SharePoint, Confluence, Jira and Adobe Professional
• Personal or Commercial Lines Underwriting experience
