Duties
Job Summary
The Senior Systems Analyst is responsible for working with business stakeholders to define business requirements and priorities in support of a large Policy Administration System. In this role, he/she is expected to work with our business stakeholders, architects, development teams to analyze and document analytical business/data requirements. The Senior Systems Analyst is an expert in understanding the basics of policy underwriting and administration process in a Property and Casualty business. A candidate for this position must be able to work in a varied, fast paced environment as part a service delivery function for TMNA Services (TMNAS) and its Group Companies and is expected to possess advance skills in key areas (articulated below).
Job Responsibilities
- Leads/participates in the analysis, requirements, design, configuration, and technical implementation of different documents and configuration metadata for insurance applications
- Responsible for the analysis, business requirements and functional specifications
- Works with business users to solicit, analyze, and document business needs and presentation in a business requirements document
- Identifies, evaluates, and recommends potential solution options, supports the resolution via projects and enhancements through to production deployment
- Responsible for the design and development of documents, forms and applications configuration according to provided technical specifications and business requirements
- Participates in the development of work tasks, estimates, schedules, materials and plans to meet business needs
- Communicates technical recommendations back to business analysts, subject matter experts and end users
- Participates in on-going operational L3 support and maintenance
- Triages and researches production support issues
- Advocates for business users and manages resolution of production defects through to production environment
- Maintains the system integrity by establishing, automating and enhancing operational checks, balance routines and maintaining KPIs
- Works collaboratively with architects, technical leads and subject matter experts of the various upstream and downstream systems
- Defines acceptance criteria as part of requirements
- Participates in UAT execution and support end user training, as required for eventual product implementation
- Aligns to the maintenance and enforcement of SDLC processes, departmental standards, style requirements and all other procedures necessary for data and system integrity
- Complies with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at the Company
- Performs special projects and other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications
Degree / Licenses and Professional Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Business, MIS, Computer Science or Mathematics) is preferred
- P&C Insurance knowledge/certifications is required
Experience
- 8+ years of overall IT experience
- 8+ years of experience focused in configuring a policy underwriting/administration system
- 8+ years of experience working with configuration tools and applications metadata
- Experience writing business requirements and functional specs. Ability to decompose complex business and data requirements into specifications for developers
- Experience and knowledge of SQL and XML
- Experience supporting stakeholder interviews and design sessions
Knowledge
- Excellent Knowledge of Property & Casualty Insurance underwriting process and terminologies
- Excellent knowledge of ISO circulars, compliance and regulatory requirements pertaining to P&C Insurance Industry
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of SDLC and software support and maintenance approaches
