Duties
We are looking for a Sr. Underwriter I to join our Specialty Property team!
Summary – Successful underwriters at PHLY work well in a team environment and exhibit strong outward facing interpersonal skills, but are also comfortable with our analytical decision making process. We specialize in niche market segments.
A typical day will include the following:
Underwrites property & casualty (P&C) insurance risks.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of loss experience and business conditions of key accounts as well as loss trends and any relevant legal or economic factors regarding the property & casualty business line.
Participates on a team of underwriters and other staff to meet the property & casualty insurance and service needs of large multi-product customers.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all products, services, priorities and target markets in the property & casualty line of business or insurance segment.
May accompany marketing representative or represent the company on appointments in assigned territory.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
CPCU and/or AU designations a plus
Four to six years of commercial package underwriting experience as defined by division
Knowledge of forms and coverages
Experience handling Habitational and Real Estate products a plus
