Duties
Job Summary
The Desktop Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of engineers in designing, configuring and maintaining our end user computing environment. The manager will support and maintain our workspace landscape, including both physical devices and virtual desktops. Through the team, this role will also design and maintain our MECM platform for image and application deployments.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the design, construction, deployment and maintenance of personal computer operating system images, virtual desktops, and other application delivery platforms
- Manage and maintain system platforms required to support the end user computing environment such as Intune/MEM, MDM and MECM
- Coordinate efforts with IT Security to develop and maintain a strong security posture on our end user devices leveraging GPOs, Intune, Defender, Bitlocker, and ATP
- Manage our Citrix and VDI environment
- Manage and participate in the design and implementation of software deployment packages and scripts to ensure timely, consistent and successful deployment of new and updated software installations
- Responsible for developing a strategic roadmap bridging technologies in alignment with business needs
- Coordinate and assist with day to day operational activities such as patching, application packaging and troubleshooting issues
- Coach, mentor and develop skills and capabilities of team members to build a cohesive and collaborative team
- Establish and build strong working relations and partnerships with Business Units to help improve the end user experience
- Ongoing evaluation, selection and effective use of deployment tools/systems
- Serves as focal point of communication for major service outages/escalations
- Comply with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at the company
Qualifications
Degree / Licenses and Professional Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline preferred
- Insurance industry experience preferred
Experience and Knowledge Required
- 5+ years demonstrable experience with Microsoft Windows based operating systems
- Working knowledge of Citrix XenApps and XenDesktop
- Solid understanding of Microsoft M365
- Strong working knowledge of application and image deployment tools such as MECM, SCCM, PDQ
- Extensive knowledge on security tools, Intune, MS Defender, Forcepoint, etc
- Knowledge of Citrix and other virtualization software
- Knowledge of organizational politics and political tactics; ability to effectively navigate formal and informal communication and decision-making channels

- Salary range $98,840 to $120,000. Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location. Our company offers a competitive benefits package and bonus eligibility on top of base.
