We are looking for a Specialty Underwriter to join our TMS Excess Casualty team! This opportunity is open to various PHLY office locations on the east coast. 

Summary -

Under moderate direction and supervision, underwrites and markets assigned products by providing intermediate levels of risk assessment and technical underwriting expertise to determine underwriting acceptability.  May provide intermediate level of financial analysis.

A typical day will include the following:

Assists with gathering and analyzing information, applies appropriate underwriting techniques necessary to make an accurate evaluation of acceptability of risk.  May evaluate credit quality.

Participates in marketing activities within the region to promote the development of new business.

Participates in the producer management process.

Prepares and participates in proposals to producers and/or accounts negotiating terms and conditions.

Prepares underwriting submissions, making recommendations and/or decisions within established authority limits. 


  • Bachelor's degree; minimum 3+ years of Excess underwriting experience: an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
