Duties

Job Summary

Provides a broad range of human resources services in line with business objectives, strategic goals, and HR initiatives. Serves as the initial HR point of contact for managers, employees, outside agencies, and others on HR-related issues.  Assists managers and employees in understanding and applying HR tools in order to maximize employee performance, achieve organizational effectiveness, improve employee engagement, and ensure legal compliance. Services provided may include employee relations, performance management, compensation, corporate social responsibility (CSR), employee engagement initiatives, immigration coordination, onboarding/offboarding, training, and special projects.

Essential Job Functions

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding TMNAS policies, procedures and programs
  • Assist with the development of TMNAS' human resource policies, procedures, and programs
  • Ensure TMNAS Employee Handbook is kept up to date with state-specific and company-wide policies
  • Assist with administration of performance management and compensation/bonus programs
  • Oversee employee onboarding and offboarding practices
  • Coordinate with outside Counsel on immigration matters and processes (Ex: H-1B transfers, extensions, Green Card sponsorships, etc
  • Preparation of monthly reports for TMNAS
  • Assist with the planning of all company-wide employee engagement events, picnics, social gatherings, and CSR initiatives
  • Draft, review and edit internal employee communications
  • Assist with the coordination of on-site training programs
  • Respond to unemployment notices, wage claims and employment verifications
  • Maintain I-9 forms in compliance with Federal laws
  • Maintain Human Resource information system records and compiles reports from database
  • Oversee coordination of TMNAS’ participation of various employee engagement surveys (ex: Best Places to Work, Top Workplaces, etc.)
  • Monitors the external HR environment to develop strategies for the organization to respond to any opportunities or difficulties identified
  • Improves processes to increase the level and quality of service provided to internal customers

Qualifications

  • BA / BS preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in HR
  • Experience with insurance organizations highly desirable
  • Knowledge of HR best practices
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws/regulations
  • Knowledge, insight, and understanding of business concepts and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Superior customer service orientation toward Business Units requiring HR consult (responsive, consultative, collaborative and accurate)
  • Strong project management skills:  Plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of resources, to achieve project objectives and deadlines
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred
