Duties

Job Summary:

The Department Coordinator Specialist, CA Agency Unit is tasked with marketing research, competitor analysis and marketing liaison with internal and external customers. To support marketing duties this staff member will maintain an in depth working knowledge of all aspects of underwriting as it applies to both Personal and Commercial lines through participation in every aspect of the unit’s responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Works with unit management on developing marketing analysis tools such as producer score cards by interviewing producers, underwriters and AEO’s.
  • Obtains competitor information through communications with CUW, Producer, Underwriters and AEO’s.
  • Analyzes data/information and reports in a manner that allows management to make decisions and determine measures to counter negative results and or meet KPI’s and goals of the unit.
  • Maintains a strong and current working knowledge of underwriting process and procedures as it applies to new business, renewals, cancellations, change requests, renewal questionnaires and coverage forms.  This will provide the required knowledge to analyze marketing information and will support department needs as directed.
  • Working closely with the SVP, AVP and Manager of the unit, supports management with projects involving marketing and tracking various business driven opportunities. Will assist in the creation of ad hoc and regular reports. Assists in liaising and managing WNS resources
  • Learns all TMA primary systems and is able to proficiently apply that knowledge to related job functions.
  • Effectively communicates with producers and vendors via phone, emails and written notices as directed.
  • Responsible for obtaining necessary insurance designations (AINS and other designations to be determined)  and remaining current in industry knowledge.
  • Through working with Personal Lines and Commercial Lines colleagues will develop SOPs and keep them current.
  • Is able to work in a team environment that can be both steady and fluid.
  • Works in a manner consistent with company standards for quality and quantity of work.
  • Responsible for complying with internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at Company

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred
  • Insurance industry preferred but not required.
  • 1-3 years of customer service/customer facing experiencing.
  • Must work in a collaborative manner with staff in and outside the unit.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word.
  • Driven to provide excellent customer service.
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Excellent communication skills.
